Molly - 1 Year Old Groodle - On Trial 22/12/22

Molly is a gorgeous 12 months old Groodle (Golden Retriever X Standard
Poodle). She has a beautiful friendly personality, loves everyone, humans or
dogs. Molly’s favourite activities are outings with other dogs, playing with
them or chasing balls, Frisbee or sticks.

Molly has a particular fondness for water, be it jumping in puddles, dams, clam
shells or big flower pots. Molly is a typical mischievous pup, who, left alone too
long and getting bored, will go looking for her own entertainment, which is
chewing stuff. However, while in foster care on a rural property (since August),
she has been a delightful dog, as she has been too busy running, playing &
exploring to think about chewing. While Molly’s coat is a beautiful fluffy non-
shedding coat, she does need daily brushing and regular (6 weekly) clipping to
keep her comfortable and free of tangles.

Molly also has some very special exercise and medical needs due to her hip
dysplasia. She is currently part-taking in a 6 months vet supervised physio
program, which requires monthly visits to Motto farm vets (Heatherbrae) and
a daily 20 Minutes exercise regime, doing 10 minutes of simple exercises and a
10 minute swim in a pool. This, in combination with a small dose of vet
prescribed anti inflammatories in the evening is keeping her fit and mobile, but
will need an ongoing commitment from her future family to preserve Molly’s
mobility in future years.

While in foster care Molly has been exposed to farm vehicles and livestock,
including horses, alpacas, cats & chickens. She gets on well with all other
creatures, is curious but cautious and not a hunter.

Molly has been to dog-school and knows how to watch, sit, stay, come & wait.

Walking in the heel position on lead is a work in progress, but walking with
halti is easy anywhere. She has played the role of therapy dog for many young
disabled people and this would be a great job for her in future.

After her daily exercise, Molly is calm and quiet in the evening, sleeping
happily on her bed through the night without incident.

Molly has a special affinity to children and disabled people, but everybody in
her future family will need to be extra cautious not to push on her back to
avoid damage to her weak hips while playing. Due to her hip problem, Molly is
not a jumper, so does not need high fences and needs a helping hand getting
into the car. She loves to travel in the car, knowing that she is on the way to
yet another great adventure.

Molly’s ideal home would have someone at home most of the time to give her
stability, exercise, training and routine. She would love a friendly and calm
playmate (preferably male), who would engage with her and be a good role
model.

A household where Molly is part of the family, inside and out is a must.

Molly’s new family needs to be willing to spend 2 hrs a day walking and
playing, as well as continuing her 20 mins exercise regime; A commitment to
keep Molly slim and ongoing vet check ups and care, as required for Molly’s
hips and the funds necessary to support ongoing care and medication.
