Nero - 9 Week Old Labrador x(On Trial 13/12/22)

Hi, Nero is the name, and a family that can give lots of cuddles are the game! Nero is a 9-week-old Labrador x Staffy, looking for his forever family. Nero loves cuddles, chasing the big dogs around, playing fetch and hanging with his foster mum.

Nero loves, loves, loves his toys – whether its playing fetch with his foster parents, or tug-o-war with his foster brother, Nero loves to play. After chasing his foster siblings around, he is more than happy to cuddle up in his foster mum’s arms and have a nap. Nero is such a clever boy, he even takes himself to his crate when he is ready to sleep. Nero is currently learning his basic commands and would benefit from puppy school and consistent training because he is going to be a big boy.

Nero hasn’t had much experience walking on a lead but he is a very confident little man. With some training he will be ready for adventures to the beach or the park in no time. Nero gets very excited when he sees other people or dogs and often jumps up to greet them. Nero’s foster parents are working on his training to sit and wait for cuddles and this training should be continued in his new home. Nero is crate trained, but he still makes mistakes every now and then and is learning to let his foster parents know when he needs to go to the toilet.

Nero is very happy to spend the day outside with his foster siblings so he may get bored if he is left on his own all day. Nero would benefit from having a calm, older doggy companion or active owners that make sure he has lots of enrichment and daily walks. Nero has already had cuddles with children that he met at the pet store and he thinks they are great. Nero would make a great pet for a family with children over the age of 8, or for an active person who will take him on weekend adventures. Nero will need a yard with secure fencing as he grows to be a big dog, so rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.

As Nero is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when he is approximately 5/6 months old.
