About Sonny
Sonny is a loveable big softie, who loves his food. He is a super house guest, zero accidents or behavioural issues. He asks to be let out, and only barks when startled by a doorbell or similar. He is fantastic with children but can be a bit jumpy, he has reacted when I picked up a baby/small child which appears to be playful, but maybe therefore not suited to a family with very small children?
He has been introduced to a Papillion and showed little interest in her, he is defiantly a people dog. Sunny is an obedient boy who walks well on a lead, no tugging etc. Sits on command and comes when called or to whistle. He seems to be social, but still needs proper introductions to dogs if on lead.
Given half a chance he would be a lap dog and would make a perfect family pet or companion, he is happy to just sit around all day as long as he can be with you. Sunny is a calm and pleasant dog. He plays well with a ball, don’t expect him to play all day though. He likes to play tug with a rope and ball, but is never aggressive. He is not keen on water/bathing but will let you bath him if he can’t run away! We have left Sunny on his own for up to 4 hours with no issues.
Sonny is a medium dog, 17 kg but could lose a few more kilos.

Medical notes
He has had an ear infection and sensitive skin, but this has been cleared up. Needs to be managed.
Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email par.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
