About Pixie
Pixie is a really sweet little girl who loves her toys, loves to play and wrestle and run around with the other pups, but also loves some lap time and soft cuddling with her human friends.
Pixie was born into a remote community in the Western Desert region of Central Australia in the Northern Territory. She came into care with her mum and her brothers and sisters at 6 weeks old. The elderly couple caring for them were struggling to look after them and wanted them to have good tucker, grow up strong and healthy and find nice homes. Since coming into care they have had a carefree and protected puppyhood.
With her calm and friendly nature, we think Pixie would make a great family dog in an environment where she would be included in lots of activities and just be part of her human gang. She is a very cooperative little pup with naturally good manners, who wants to do the right thing, and will be easy to teach.
Her mum is a Territory Long Dog of small medium size (13 kg) and we think Pixie will be a chip off the old block as she also has short legs and is longer than she is tall. There is a photo of her mum Gracie in Pixie's reel.
Pixie is currently in care in the NT and will be ready to fly to Adelaide in mid-December. Her flight is included in her adoption fee.
Medical notes
In addition to the usual parasite management of de-worming, heartworm prevention and tick and flea prevention, Pixie will have a blood test for the full range of tick-bourne diseases endemic in the territory, including Erlichea Canus. If treatment is indicated as a result of this test, it will be provided.
