About Mara
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Ideally needs a medium to large dog companion
- Someone who is home often with lots of love to give
- A grassed yard to do zoomies
- Children over 10 years
Meet Mara! An incredibly sweet, goofy 4 year old girl. Mara has so much love to give, and all she needs from her forever family is the same in return.
Mara has lived with another greyhound who she loves dearly, and ideally would go to a home with a medium to large sized male dog. She can be a little bossy when meeting new dogs for the first time, but warms up very quickly.
She walks beautifully on the lead, and gets very excited when it’s time for a walk! Mara is happy with a short 30 minute walk most days, but is happy to substitute for a play inside in bad weather.
Mara loves to play, she has a tail that doesn’t stop wagging! Squeaky teddies are her favourite… but they don’t tend to last long. Sometimes Mara gets overly excited when she plays, which is why she’s suited to families with older children (10+ years).
She loves to be wherever her people are, and loves to be right in your personal space on the couch or bed, wherever you’ll allow her. The more affection the better!
She’s a very clever, food motivated girl which makes her very easy to train. She knows to get on her bed when told, stays out of the kitchen when cooking, and goes to the back door when asked if she needs ‘wee wees’. She’s also one rare grey who loves to sit on command!
This girl has a pure heart, and so much love to give. One look at her big goofy overbite and anyone is sure to fall in love with this girl!
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
