About Scrat
Little Scrat is the perfect size to be a lap dog, and he loves nothing more than to snuggle in for a pat. His other great love is food, which should help with his training. In light of his slight leg impediment, he seems the perfect pet for an older person. He would benefit from going on a joint supplement to help in the long term but otherwise his leg doesn't bother him.
Scrat will need time, training and patience to learn to walk on a lead, become toilet trained and establish recall. He lacks socialisation but since being in care he has integrated really well into his foster carers home with her pets (dogs and cats) plus met a few people successfully. He travelled well whilst crated.
Scrat has been desexed, C5 vaccinated and treated with Simparica trio for fleas, worms and heartworm. His adoption fee will be $850.
Although we will answer all enquires, an application form is required to be considered as Scrats new home. Applications can be completed via our website www.radarescue.org/adoption
Medical notes
Scrat has a slight impendimemt with on of his legs. We have had some xrays and ruled out anything major. He does have a little bit of arthritis in his toes due to compensating while he walks. It doesn't seem to bother him at all but may benefit from a joint suppliment moving forward.
Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website https://radarescue.org/adoption
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within two weeks of the adoption.
