About Toby
Toby
Please do not apply for Toby if you do not have time to dedicate to his training needs.
Toby is a super affectionate boy who would enjoy a permanent home that offers plenty of love and pats, with a cosy bed to curl up in.
Currently in foster care, Toby has settled in quickly and enjoys the company of his foster family, especially the children (9 & 14).
He does get very excited and has both jumping & zooming behaviour so unfortunately will not be suited to a home with young children.
The great thing is he is a quick learner and has been well behaved when left home alone.
Having just one eye doesn't appear to impact Toby in any significant way but does mean some training in learning to play or perform tasks may need to be modified.
Toby is a friendly happy Chappy and is good with other dogs, but would be better in a home without cats. Car’s and birds are his nemesis, he needs lots of time to learn chasing is not required behaviour. This is possibly a habit developed through lack of training as a younger boy, time and patience and he will learn there is no point and that walking with you gets a much higher reward.
We want an adopter who will not let Toby down. Someone who is going to enjoy the small wins in his learning by taking each step slowly.
Toby does not need to be walked around the streets and he does not need overstimulated play at a dog park. Reward him with calm and patience and he will be rewarded you with an unyielding commitment

Medical notes
Toby has one eye as a result of an infection as a puppy. There are no long term medical issues with this.

We only consider applicants that have completed our adoption application form. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
