About Olive
A message from Olive
Hi there ‘fur’ever family! My name is Olive and I am so excited to meet you!
Since leaving my kennel I have found there is no greater joy in life than snuggling my foster parents and snoozing my days away in the comfiest, cosiest spots I can find. Turns out I’m a pro-roacher: in fact, I don’t think there’s a single spot in the house that is un-roachable. My foster parents often find me upside-down and fast asleep on the couch, on my bed or on their bed—once they even found me upside-down on the kitchen floor!
My current family work from home (which I love), so I really would prefer to be in a home where my humans and I can hang out together most of the time. My humans really are my best friends, so the more time I get to spend around them the better in my book. My ideal humans would be keen to take me on outings with them to the café or pub, where I can collect pats from new people.
My foster parents think I’m a super brave girl. Despite never being around trams, traffic and busy streets before, I’m taking it all in my stride and strutting my stuff with confidence. Even thunder, lightning, fireworks and trips to the vet don’t scare me!
I enjoy meeting other big dogs on my twice daily strolls (greyhounds being my favourite friends of course), but small fluffy pups and pesky cats are definitely not my favourite to be around. Just between you and me, I actually think that cats are a bit scary!
Now that I’ve found my feet as a pet and adapted into a life of leisure, I’m really hoping to meet my forever humans. I can’t promise that I’ll never drink out of the toilet, or that I’ll never steal your socks, but what I can promise is to be the best friend (and couch potato) you’ve ever had.
About Olive
Olive is a 4-year-old girl who first came to Amazing Greys in October 2022 and has been winning over hearts (and spots on the couch) ever since.
Olive’s ideal home would be with at least one person who is able to work from home most of the time. Her current foster family work from home full time, so she is used to spending all day with humans for company, which is just the way she likes it! Olive will need her new family to be patient and willing to support her in gradually working up to spending more time alone.
When out and about Olive walks nicely alongside her humans and enjoys nothing more than a good sniff. She has met some other greyhounds and large breed dogs on her walks and seems to enjoy their company. However, she would not be suited to a home with any smaller breed, or fluffy dogs, because she has shown some signs of prey drive around them.
Olive is comfortable meeting new people and loves getting lots of pats and affection from humans. She has met children briefly while on her walks but is currently living in an adult-only home. Amazing Greys assess applications on a case-by-case basis but we feel that Olive would be best suited to a home with just adults, or one with older children.
Olive has adjusted really well to her new routine. She knows that the sound of the alarm in the morning means it’s time for her morning walk, followed by breakfast and then nap time until her afternoon walk and dinner. Her favourite toys to play with are anything that squeaks but Olive’s most favourite activity of all is being curled up close to her humans.
