Then Martin is the dog for you!

Martin was left in our overnight cages. When he arrived he was underweight and covered in fleas. Martin is a picture of health now and is ready to find his forever home.

Martin wasn’t with us long before we discovered his love for playing…….with everything 🤣

From day one Martin would finish all of his food then pick up his food bowl and play with it in his kennel. Martin is always standing at the front of his kennel with an empty food bowl in his mouth looking at you as to say “are you going to play with me now”

Staff provide Martin with lots of toys in his kennel but out of all of them, he loves his soccer balls the most. He plays with them so much he needs a new one every few days.

Martin also loves playing with the hose.
He will literally put his feet out under his kennel door and try and grab it while staff are cleaning kennels.

Martin sits for food and has great eye to mouth coordination. When you throw him a treat he catches it mid air with little effort.

Martin has lots of energy and needs lots of mental stimulation. Martin might benefit from agility training or another high energy activity.
Maybe he could be the next fly ball champion?

Other pets: Martin is fine being near other dogs. He shows no outward aggression towards other dogs but he does show his annoyance when a dog gets into his bubble. He does this with a low grumble. That is his way of telling you he isn’t comfortable and wants to walk away.

Martin does seem to prefer the company of female dogs who have a more submissive approach to interacting with him.

We do recommend Martin be the only dog in his new home where he can get all of the attention and where he can get all the soccer balls he wants all to himself.

Martin appeared very unsure when he met some cats. Based on his reaction we recommend a home with no cats.

Type of household: An active one!!! We could see Martin living his best life with a family who enjoy being outdoors. Playing games together in a big back yard and going on lots of fun adventures would suit this gorgeous boy down to the ground.

Martin's adoption fee covers: microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
