Zolly is a certified Beautiful Baby Angel - This title is reserved for a select few, and we think she might be the group leader. This little angel landed in foster care, and adjusted to the massive change as if it wasn’t her first rodeo.
Zolly is independent and doesn’t mind being alone - However, being the only dog at the property, she does get bored quickly and it will make it her mission to seek and destroy all her toys, and anything else she can get into. Her favourite game with soft toys is to rip their guts and squeakers out, after meticulously chewing off any facial features. Once she has finished, she will bring the half empty toy inside for a nap.
Zolly is a cuddle bug and loves to be spooned on the couch. Once she gets too hot she will find a nice spot on the floor to sprawl out. She is the noisiest sleeper, and will groan and moan as if she’s had the hardest day at work - These dreamy noises alway crack us up. During the day, she does not make a peep.
On walks she is still learning that not every dog wants to be her friend, and not every human wants to stop to say hello. She is great with other dogs and can read their body language well. She loves water, puddles and the mud - She doesn't even mind a walk in the rain.
Zolly would love to have another playful friend at home, although not essential as she is fantastic on her own.
As is her Heeler nature, she is intrigued by fast moving objects, this includes: bicycles, e-scooters, scooters and joggers. It would be best for her to practice engagement during walks so she can learn to disengage from the object, and focus on her person/treats.
Nipping and biting is the Heelers natural instinct. Zolly can nip and bite if you’re running around, playing. It is mostly gentle play, but she is better suited to a house that does not have young children. Proper training, socialization, and supervision help minimize this.
She is not suited to a home with unsupervised access pocket pets, poultry or livestock
