About Shilo SUA009972
Shilo came to us not knowing what human love and a safe and warm home was. We knew inside that terrified exterior was a beautiful soul who needed an understanding and caring human to show him his life could be filled with love.
Shilo has spent three months with an experienced and patient foster carer, he is now ready to find his very own human and home, one that will understand he will need plenty of time and patience to settle in.
Shilo would do well in a home with a relaxed and friendly feline to show him the ropes, but no canines or children.
From his foster carer –
Shilo is a shy boy who needs a bit of time to accept the new surroundings. He loves to have his own space and he loves to curl up and sleep but definitely active during the night time. He accepts a good scratch on his head. Just need to take things slowly.
His favorite way of passing the time is watching birds through the window while no one is around. He is a scratcher and must have a few scratching pads or posts for him. Shilo loves to hide in our small shelf in the laundry. But usually love to explore around the house when no one is watching him.
He is ok with touch and loves receiving a good head scratch. He does not like being touched on the lower back area. He is a lovely fur baby but does take some time to learn to trust his people.
If you show him patience and care he will be a very sweet boy for you.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
