About Coco
Hello there, I'm Coco, a border collie and I'll be one in January. Foster mum says I'm the happiest, most adorable little miss she has come across in a long time. She is always telling me that I'm just a joy in every single way.
I'm a bit of a special needs girl so I need a calm home preferably in a more mature aged household. I'm fine in the suburbs or a rural setting, and I am definitely an inside girl - no sleeping outside for me please. I love to go for walks, go to the beach and just love bushwalks where I can sniff and explore. I don't mind if you already have another dog, as long as they are not crazy rough with me. I play with my foster brothers and sisters all the time, we play tug rope and do zoomies but when I'm tired, I rest while they just keep playing. I would like a home where I'm not left alone all day, I would rather be with my people but a few hours at home alone is ok.
After our morning walk, I just love lying next to foster mum on the couch, I try to move so that we are touching and she holds my paw while she reads - its the best way to snooze n have comfort. I have been on a couple of vet visits while I've been in care and had some x-rays done. What the vet thinks has happened to me is that I was rolled on when I was very young and that has caused a bit of trauma. I have hip dysplasia and a little bit of spinal damage. I am not in any pain at all but I do fatigue after big playing sessions or walks that are just too long.
I've got all the basics covered, walk well on lead and off, great recall, house trained, crate trained, best ever car traveler but foster mum is teaching me not to be a bin rummager and a counter surfer. I love learning the names of toys and can find some by name when they get hidden around the house. Like all border collies, I am a smart young lady and I just thrive on showing how clever I am.
If you feel that you can meet all of my needs and would love to offer me a spot on your couch, then please complete the application questionnaire so foster mum can have a chat with you.
Medical notes
Coco has confirmed Hip Dysplasia and a possible compression at the tail end of her spine. This likely happened by being rolled on as a very new pup. She does not live with pain at all but is likely to develop arthritis and will need anti inflammatory medication once this develops. X rays and Vet notes are available to adopter.
