About Harriet
This is Harriet. She is a sweet girl who has lead a very sheltered life up until now! She has only ever known her littermates and immediate family and has not had much exposure to the outside world. The staff here have been working closely with Harriet to build the trust between humans and other dogs, taking things at Harriet's pace and giving her plenty of choice and positive reinforcement. She is very food motivated and keen to work for treats when she's relaxed, although she has had no basic training besides learning a couple of basic commands in the shelter. She would love a home who is understanding and patient and willing to spend time with her expanding her world slowly. Since she hasn't had much socialisation with other dogs or people, she needs lots of positive experiences with other dogs and people under her belt. An experienced owner is necessary to implement positive training methods to help build her confidence out in the real world! Since Harriet is so scared of the world right now, she will need to go home to an adult only home. She may benefit from a calm, older canine companion who can show her the ropes, but obviously I will need to meet them first! In fact, I may need to meet you a few times before I feel comfortable with you.
If you have what it takes to rehabilitate the beautiful Harriet, please enquire with RSPCA Peninsula on 5978 9001
