About Anthea
Are you looking for a best friend – someone who is happy off doing their own thing sometimes and then other times in your face with no concept of personal space? If the answer is yes – then look no further – Meet me my name is Athena!
My foster mum says I am an absolutely lovely girl, but I do have a few quirks (I mean come on what French Bulldog doesn’t have quirks???)
I am not great with other dogs - so the rescue has said I must be an only child - but that's awesome for all those people who only want one - that's me!!!
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home – I’m still young so I would like to be a part of my families’ lives.
I would love to go for walks daily with my humans and my foster mum says I do have spurts of energy that is fun to watch.
I would like to ask for a personal belly rub scratcher - I love them and could happily have them 10 x's a day!
I would love to be able to sleep on a human's bed with them or on the couch (my foster mum has been teaching me that there is a spot on the couch I can sleep on) - I do like to sometimes to push that and see if you won't notice I'm not on that spot.
At my foster house there is some kids and while I love playing with them, I am still learning not to snatch treats from their hands and from time to time I can get a bit rough, but I am definitely learning, I mean why would I not try - I have worked out with kids I get cuddles and attention, so I am really keen on that! Especially if one is happy for me to sleep with them at night – I love to spoon – I’m normally the big spoon!
My foster mum has said no way to cats – apparently, she wouldn’t trust me.
I love food so that is a huge bonus with teaching me to be gentle.
My foster mum has also said I am an awesome doorbell when people come to the house, and I will tell anyone who is listening as they come close to the house that I am on patrol, and I will sound big and scary but I’m really not – I just like to pretend.
I do have a few things that I am not a fan of - Vacuum cleaner, Mowers and Whipper snipers – I will try and tell them off – my foster mum calls me special when I am in the house yelling at them as they are working.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Applications will close Friday 25th November 2022 at 5.30pm

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
