ABOUT TRAMP
Beautiful Tramp is very special. He is as calm as any dog we've ever met and yet he's quite young and very well behaved for a pound dog. Its almost as if he has some aristocratic hound breeding, like a retriever of some kind. He has liver merle colouring that reminds us of a pointer and he does lift one leg when he's sighting something he might want to chase. He would chase cats but we’re also sure that in time, with positive guidance, he would calm down with them. Tramp was named such because he just wins over the lady dogs so easily but he’s not too keen on male dogs. He would be a very loyal family pet or a companion to a single person. He's brilliant on a lead and if you stop to talk, he just sits beside you and waits or, if he's hot, he'll lay down at your feet. Tramp would never pull on the lead. This boy could go anywhere with anyone and would make a great traveling companion as he’s so calm and not too big to have in a van or bus. Although he's very alert and responsive, you could teach him anything as he's not over active like a Kelpie or BC. He’s happy to just mosey along. About the only time Tramp will be timid or show fear is if you pick up a stick and wave it at him, which we did by mistake to attract his attention during the photo shoot. For a boy who has obviously been hurt in this way before, he has proven to be very forgiving and trusting when treated well. Tramp tested positive to heartworm antigen with no microfilaria and has undergone treatment. He will be tested again on 25th April at our cost with our vets. He has responded well to his treatment.
