ABOUT JETHRO

Jethro is the sweetest little guy who just wants to love and be loved. Due to his original home, Jethro is best suited to a calm home without yelling so he can feel secure and safe. It may take some time for Jethro to trust you, but once you have his trust, you will have the best little companion at your feet or by your side (preferably on the couch).

Jethro doesn't like having his legs, feet or bum touched, so grooming can be a bit challenging at first. If you take your time and build up trust, he will let you do what you need to without him being too stressed (and trying to nip at you to protect himself). He has a beautiful, thick, black coat that does require regular grooming.

Jethro sleeps through the night in his bed and will use the doggy door to toilet as needed. We move his bed between the lounge and bedroom as needed. He also likes to spend time out on the deck in the sunshine or wandering around the yard when the mood takes him.

Jethro walks well on the lead, enjoys the car and is generally an all round easy little dog.

MEDICAL NOTES
Jethro is currently overweight and requires ongoing diet and exercise management. He won't eat dry dog food on its own. Jethro is currently eating a home-made casserole (veges, chicken & bone broth) to assist with weight loss and he loves this.

Jethro does have dry skin so he can appear a little flaky, but we have found that moisturising shampoo (Emu Oil) has really helped this.

BEHAVIOUR NOTES
Jethro doesn't like having his legs, feet or bum touched, so grooming can be a bit challenging at first. If you take your time and build up trust, he will let you do what you need to without him being too stressed (and trying to nip at you to protect himself).
Requires a muzzle at the vets.

If he will be home alone during the day will do better with a doggy companion to keep him company.
