About Eleven
*Special Case* - Adoption Application Only. Please read this description carefully. You can also call us for more details on 8777 4445.
Eleven is a sweet, affectionate and playful dog with a lot of sass. Like most Dachshunds he is more a one-person dog who will accept a partner over time but is mainly bonding to one person. He would be best suited to a single or two-person household. He is an indoor dog who wants to be with his people most of the times
Eleven does have back issues (IVDD) Intervertebral disk disease which need ongoing management. That includes carrying him up long stairs or over obstacles and preventing him from jumping on and off things (He will try because he thinks he is a healthy, little acrobat). He likes short walks, which help him to build and maintain his muscles. Eleven also loves splashing and swimming in water. Especially if balls are involved. In general, he loves playing with humans and is obsessed with balls and fluffy toys.
Typical Dachshund, he is smart, stubborn and very determined. He will find every toy stored away in the house to bring to you for a play, no matter how long it will take him to get to that toy.
He is familiar living with other dogs and cats but doesn't engage much in play with them. He does however draw confidence from another dog especially when left alone at home for short periods.
He mostly ignores other dogs or people on walks if they ignore him. However, he is very unsure about meeting strangers if they approached him too quickly or try to pet him. He will need very slow introduction to new people.
As most Dachshunds, he is vocal and will announce visitors, new things and his general mood by whining and barking.
A super adorable boy, Eleven is sweet and easy to deal with if you are his 'person'. He will need ongoing practice on meeting and greeting strangers appropriately.
