Lyndara is a female, five month old Staffy x She weighs almost 12 kilos. This little girl needs someone that can continue to deal with her inappropriate dog and human behaviour. She can seem aggressive by her inappropriate growl when she initially encounters new people, even new dogs. The growl doesn’t match the happy tail and other body language. She can even nip but has never even touched skin. She gets frightened and telling her “you’re okay” whilst rubbing her chest soothes her. New situations overwhelm her, she is a bit confused. She needs lots of socialisation.
I am of the opinion that she was removed from her litter too early. She has been with a mentor dog for the last couple of weeks. Her behaviours have improved amazingly. Thus a dog that will help her would be wonderful thing.
Lyndara sleeps in a crate. She cannot settle herself. In the time she has been with us she has not once been able to sleep anywhere but in her covered crate. She lies down but never sleeps…always listening, always ready for what may come. It’s pretty disgustingly sad in my opinion. Tired she becomes naughty and her behaviour declines. She needs a couple of hours crate / sleep time throughout the day. Without this her play and behaviour becomes a bit overwhelming. Babies need sleep.
She has great recall. She also responds to other commands….back, sit, no, down, inside, outside. AhhAhh is a word we use here all the time, she knows it and responds well to it. She loves hearing the words Good Girl. I have been using a harness on her. She walks well beside you. She listens and learns easily. Puppy school and socialisation classes are an absolute must to continue to help this girl
She is basically toilet trained. If you pay attention she makes it easy for you.
Lyndara loves cows hooves to chew on. She gets one in her crate, she really enjoys it and it pacifies her. Highly treat motivated, she listens and learns. I use goodos broken in to four pieces as training treats.
A very busy little girl, Lyndara loves to explore. She loves it when you talk to her, the sound of a voice comforts her. She will follow you wherever you go. She trusts easily after her initial This girl needs someone to devote a lot of time and attention to her. She flourishes in a learning situation. She’s full of love. A kind loving creature. I know with her intelligence and a loving owners patience and devoted perseverance this girl has the makings of a really, great dog.
