Adoption Fee: $250 this is to help cover the many costs associated with rehabilitating our horses
Cobber came to us as a laminitis surrender, his lovely mum needed help to rehabilitate him and decided it was best to surrender as she had way too much green grass to manage him herself. Thankfully Cobber responded really well to his new diet and is loving the walkies and exercise!
Cobber is a social little guy who is confident and of course sassy (like all minis really!) He isn’t afraid to let everyone know in the paddock what he thinks and certainly doesn’t let them boss him around even though he is only little. He does still find humans a little concerning at times and can be anxious around new people he doesn’t know.
In his foster home he is really enjoying hand walks with his foster horse brother, I’ve also been told he quite likes to trot over little jumps and run alongside his human now that he’s gotten to know them. Cobber loves a good scratch; however, he can sometimes be a little bit cheeky to catch if he’s not in the mood, typical little mini pony!
He is great to trim, float and handle, he has never shown any nasties towards anyone and would make a fun little companion pony. Cobber is not broken in so we are rehoming as a companion only at this stage, however, there is no reason he couldn’t be trained under saddle as a kids pony down the track so long as his laminitis is kept under control.
Preference will be given to applicants who live close to the sanctuary in Kanimbla NSW so Cobber wouldn’t have to travel a long distance, however, for the perfect home we are happy to discuss adoptions interstate.
If you think you can offer Cobber the perfect forever home, please complete an application on our website, we would love to hear from you!
Please note: Some people have experienced an error with the form not being sent when clicking “submit” if this happens to you please email me at kate@elysianfieldssanctuary.com.au so I can double check it has been received.

Adoption details
After rehabilitation a profile is created of the animal to help find them the perfect match. Applicants can apply via my website using the application form. A house inspection (can be virtual) is required and then a visit can be arranged. If all goes well a two week trial in their new home begins, after completion of the two weeks the adoption will be finalised.
