About Panda
Meet Panda!
Panda is a beautiful big black Labrador x Golden Retriever raised and trained in the Assistance Dogs Australia program. Panda is 17 months old, desexed and looking for his forever home!
Panda is super affectionate and loves being by your side. He will quite happily just chill at your feet and receive all the pats that you can offer. Panda walks nicely on lead and will enjoy long strolls together with you by his side, however, due to his size he can be strong on lead at times. He loves playing fetch, and will proudly return his ball for another go. Panda’s other favourite things in life are hand-shakes and Hi-5s. Panda has good toilet training and is able to go on cue.
Although Panda has shown some great qualities during his time in the Assistance Dogs Australia training program, we have decided that he is not suitable to be placed as an Assistance Dog and is better suited to life as a very well-loved pet.
Panda does have some cheeky behaviours but with the right introduction to his new home and owners and the opportunity to settle, he will not disappoint. Panda has been good with other dogs. Of course, we would do a proper meet and greet to ensure compatibility.
Panda will need to go to a home with fairly active people who are confident handlers and that ideally would have previous experience owning a large dog. He would benefit from any continued training as he loves being with you in work or play. He would also require a family that could walk him at least twice a day. All Assistance Dogs are accustomed to spending most of their time with humans inside their home, so his ideal person or family would spend a lot of time at home with him. So, if it’s a big happy sweet ball of love you’re after, then you will certainly get that in Panda.
Panda is a healthy young dog. Vaccinations and parasite protection have been kept up to date. If you think Panda could be the right dog for you or you have any further questions, please email Carri at crobinson@assistancedogs.org.au so that I can pass on an application form for you to complete.
