About Cruz
CRUZ is a very young male Border Collie/Kelpie mix that's always happy to see you.
Exuberant, affectionate, clever and alert, this boy has a sweet temperament and is innately well-mannered. He doesn't jump up and has quickly learnt to sit on command.
Cruz is a striking looking dog. He is deep-chested, lanky and athletic and weighs 30 kgs. He has one pale blue eye and one brown eye, a condition known as heterochromia which is quite common in BCs and comes with no adverse health affects.
It's clear he hadn't received much care, attention or training in his short life, but he has impressed his foster mum with his eagerness to please. He wants to do the right thing and just needs to learn how.
Cruz would benefit from routine, more training and the benevolent guidance of an experienced lover of working breeds.
He is selective about his canine company. With a proper introduction, he is good with females and happily shared a 10 hour car trip to Warwick with a female dog. However, he's not that keen on males, which we guess is a legacy of whatever happened to him in his life pre-ARK.
He is not compatible with cats, stock, poultry and pocket pets.
If you are interested in meeting Cruz, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
His adoption fee is $550 and he is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
