Hiya friends, I’m Grover.
I’m a loveable natured guy and I’ve heard my carers describe me as cheeky and sometimes a little naughty, so I might be the perfect dog to put on your Christmas list.
I’m a bit of a boofhead that underestimates my strength at times, but that’s only because I’m so excited about the world around me. I’m pretty high energy so it’s important for me to get daily exercise and I’d benefit from some enrichment when you guys are at work.
I’ve done a little bit of training here but I’d love to continue it, I’m learning how to engage properly with my handler and I love the treats. I get over-aroused when I’m given a lot of attention and this can cause me to mouth, so someone who is calm and firm and can give me directions and suitable outlets is what I need from an owner.
I know how to sit and I’m learning to properly play with toys. I haven’t been reactive with other dogs whilst here, but my carers say I have no manners and don’t know how to appropriately interact just yet (I may try to hump them sometimes), so for this reason it’s best that I don’t go into a home that has another dog.
I do chill out and relax in the sun when I go into a yard, and I’d love to have a crate of my own at home that I can unwind in. If I’m ticking all the right boxes for you, please submit and expression of interest for me today!
Medical notes
When one of our pets finds a new home, our team then book into the Council's contracted vet for them to be desexed (the next business day typically). We will transport your new furry family member to our vet for desexing in the morning. In the afternoon you can then collect your furry friend from the vets following their procedure.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
How much does it cost to adopt?
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
