Chuck - 5 Year Old Wolfhound x(On Hold 20/11/22)

You have stumbled across the goodest boy of all the goodest boys in the whole entire world. This is Chuck. An Irish Wolfhound x Bull Arab (possibly even some Great Dane thrown in there given his size… he’s a very large boy). He has found himself looking for a new home due to no fault of his own.

On the first day I met Chuck, he was dropped off to my work (I own a Doggy Daycare) by his prior owners. I walked him into a playpen containing about 10 other large breed dogs he’d never met before. He went in, tail wagging, without issue. I’ve socialised thousands of dogs in my time and I’d have to say, Chuck, was one of the easiest dogs I’ve ever introduced into a daycare setting. He spent the rest of the day exploring the environment, getting to know the other dogs, getting lots of cuddles off the humans, sleeping on the bed and doing cute little woo woo’s for our attention. He hasn’t put a foot wrong since.

At my house he happily cohabitates with three Bernese Mountain Dogs and a Mini Dachshund. We have a 7mo and a 3 year old and he is perfect with the kids too. In addition, we have chickens cooped at the back of our property and he hasn’t even given them a second look. However, due to his size I would be reluctant to allow him unattended around pocket pets and other small animals.

Chuck is 5 years old and while not old, he would rather have the company of a calm friend over a younger dog who is going to pester him to play all day. I believe Chuck would be fine entering a home with another dog or being an only dog in a home.

He does love cuddles and human attention so he definitely needs a family that wants to include him indoors and have him as an active part of their life. He doesn’t appear to have any separation anxiety or escape tendencies and aside from a bit of crying the first few days here (understandable considering he was probably missing his old family), he’s been a quiet, happy, well mannered boy.

Chuck is a naturally nicely behaved dog. He could probably do with a little further training in the area of walking nicely on leash and not barging in the back door when you open it to let him in but he sits and waits for his dinner and he loves to give you a shake with his beautiful big paw.

Your heart and your home will complete with Chuck in it. He can’t wait to meet you, his new family <3.
