About Charlotte
Charlotte was surrendered to Lort Smith some months back after being hit by a car. She suffered multiple fractures to her hind and forelimbs.
The gorgeous girl has been in foster since her medical procedures for rehabilitation and TLC. Unfortunately, after several months of rehab, her hind limb was unable to be saved and all that could be done for Charlotte was sadly amputation of this limb.
Charlotte is doing very well after amputation and has adjusted to only having 3 legs incredibly well, and now she is ready to start the search for her new home! Charlotte is a very happy girl and she loves to play.
She is looking for a home with a confident, calm but playful canine companion. A larger breed would be best as she tends to be a little cheeky and bosses’ smaller dogs around. Charlotte is shy initially, but she does warm up to people quickly once she feels she can trust them.
Charlotte is doing very well in her foster home with obedience training and confidence building training, however, her new family will need continue working on this in her new home with a one-on-one dog trainer.
Charlotte is great with children; however, she does tend to get very excitable, so it is best that if she does go to a home with children that they are over the age of 12.
Charlotte loves to cuddle with her humans on the couch at the end of the day, so a home where she would be allowed indoors, and part of the family would be the best fit for her.
Charlotte also loves being outside in the garden, laying in the sunshine and soaking up the sunshine rays.
**Charlotte is currently in a foster home. Her foster Carer will bring Charlotte into the adoption centre for pre-arranged meet and greets**
Once Charlotte finds her perfect match, she will be foster with a view to adopt over a 3-week period, so the staff can give her and her new owners the support they need whilst settling her in.
