About Tocar
Surprise! This stunningly handsome boy continually surprises us and has a lovely personality.
Tocar is an absolute water baby! This water lover’s favourite to do is go swimming. Whether that be in a pool at home or in the dam, he will jump straight in. Don’t leave the gate open to the pool as he will be in there splashing around. Tocar will even hop into the shower with you if you're not careful and he is no problem to get in the bath for wash time.
Tocar’s background involves the litter of 7 pups being left in a backyard without being given any human touch, exposure or training. They were not mistreated but this lack of socialisation early on has left them shy and needing to build their confidence. The benefit in this situation is that there is really a blank slate to build upon and a true relationship can be developed between dog and owner. Tocar is also a very stable minded dog and does not suffer anxiety.
Due to his past, Tocar will need great human and dog role models and will need to be adopted into the right environment to ensure he becomes a balanced dog. He is house trained and has loved learning his basic training. So far he can sit, shake, hi-5, drop and is improving his leash manners. Tocar is comfortable walking next to a pram with his foster carer as well.
Tocar has been developing his confidence with meeting new people. When being introduced to new people, he does best when on a lead. He is then happy to get pats and interact with the person. When he settles into his new home and builds a relationship with his owner, he turns into a massive smoocher who loves attention and cuddles. Tocar loves to be in the company of his family and is super affectionate. He is a big teddy bear and loves to give kisses and cuddles to his foster carers. With further socialisation he will continue to grow in confidence so we are looking for a home who can understand and work with him to achieve this goal. We know that in return, he be a loving and loyal companion to his new owner.
We are looking for an experienced or dedicated family that want to develop a pup to his full potential. This process takes time and consistency for them to grow into calm, stable adults. The most rewarding journey to be a part of an important trust and bonding time between dog and owner. He is good with other dogs so would be fine to live with another friendly and already well-trained doggy friend who can show him the ropes. Tocar has shown a liking to teenagers so a home with older children or no children will suit. Most importantly, he needs adult(s) that will show leadership and clear guidance. He will not be suitable to live in a unit or in the inner city as it would be too busy.
If you think you could offer this gorgeous boy the home he needs, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry Form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please add detail of your dog experience and information of your home environment.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
