About Eliza
Confident, gorgeous 2 year old brindle beauty Eliza is keen to be fast
friends with everyone she meets. Our darling Eliza is a sweet love sponge who soaks up affection and dishes it out in equal measures.
Every day is a new day to play, your four-legged alarm clock who responds to
the name Eliza and adores ear scritches will boop you awake and have a chatter before breakfast.
When she's excited, Eliza will perform a delightful dance routine where she'll pick up a toy, toss it up into the air, drop it and then prance around it. The toy basket will yield hours of fun for Eliza who will keep herself busy.
Outgoing and a huge lover of the outdoors, Eliza will thrive with a twice
daily walk. She's also a fan of fetch and will alternate between bringing it back and making you retrieve it - which begs the question, who is playing fetch with who? You'll most definitely enjoy finding out.
Eliza is a little monkey and likes to thieve little treasures to take back to her nest. If you're missing a shoe, look first in Eliza's bed. Eliza has
adapted well to pet life and doesn't mind street noises - if anything she's keen to investigate them! Learning is really enriching for Eliza, she's a clever cookie and already knows what to do when her foster carers request 'bed', 'stay' or 'let's go'. She also waits outside, even when the door is open, for a formal invite of 'Eliza, inside.'
Eliza's still learning to contain her jumping beans when it comes to meeting new friends, but through positive reinforcement and high-value treats, she'll learn to keep all four paws on the floor. Funnily enough, she hasn't quite learnt how to jump into the car and requires a leg-up but can easily jump out of the car.
Eliza is currently in foster care with another female greyhound. She happily shares her space and would love a medium to large canine friend. Eliza would also be content to be a solo houndie if her humans worked from home, so that she could lap up all of the love.
Not a fan of small dogs or cats. With her speed noodle antics and puppy-like play, Eliza is best suited to homes with older children.
You'll fall in love with Eliza's constant joy and excitement and her big,
gorgeous smile will have you beaming too!

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
