About Reuben
MEET REUBEN!
Reuben is approximately 10-11 years old, he is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations and parasite prevention, Reuben is FIV positive.
Special needs senior boy Reuben is as sweet as pie & full of love to give.
Rueben lived on the streets til he was was rescued at approximately 10 years of age, which sadly is how he contracted FIV at some point in his life. Reuben has certainly spent time with people but no one really cared for him enough to vet work him and keep him warm and safe. Reuben's dental situation in particular was extremely bad with 4 broken canines! He has since had a dental procedure to rectify this and made a full recovery.
Rueben is such a loving cat despite people letting him down for years. He loves a pat, a cuddle and even likes to be picked up.
Reuben is a very gentle boy indeed and is fine with other cats. If adopted with another cat, that cat will need to have had the FIV vaccination and be non-dominant.
Rueben must be an inside cat for life. No experience with dogs that we know of but he would be great with children.
Medical notes
Reuben is FIV positive , if you would like to learn more about FIV please reach out to us and we are more than happy to help! Currently his FIV does not affect him. Reuben has had a major dental procedure and has made a full recovery, his remaining teeth are now in excellent condition.
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
