Shelby is such a sweet kitty who purrs pretty much non-stop when she sees you.
This very pretty ginger and white girl loves to play with a wide range of toys but particularly loves to stalk, pounce and chase a lure toy on a stick.

Shelby loves a belly rub and she will stretch out to allow you to rub more of her belly. But you’ll need to be quick - sometimes she’ll grab and play with your belly-rubbing hand but she never bites hard or digs in her claws - and she is easy to distract her from this.

As playful as Shelby is, she also happily curls up next to you for a cuddle and nap while watching a movie. She is an excellent binge-watching buddy!

Shelby will let you pick her up for a cuddle but she is not keen on being carried around. That may change as she gets older and relaxes in her new home though.

When she came into foster carer Shelby was triggered by loud noises or sudden movements. While she is better about that now, occasionally she will duck under a chair or table and come back out not long after. More often than not she will become curious and go look for the disturbance.

When Shelby meets new people she can still be a little unsure, but with calm people she doesn't take long to come out to sniff you. Once you have given her one stroke she will happily rub up against you for more pats.

Shelby is not greedy about her food, and most of the time she will have a nibble when she is fed and then leave the rest for later. But Shelby will do absolutely anything for a Dine mousse treat!

Shelby would be great in a family with older children who lead a quieter life, or with a couple or single person. She does need a moderately quiet home, a place where she can show you her true self at her own pace over time.
