About Lars
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- A family where at least one person is home more often than not
- Kids above the age of 8
- Grassed back yard
Lars is a handsome boy who easily warms up to people. He is extremely affectionate and loves spending time by your side. Sometimes he behaves very much like a cat and would brush against you with his body and look up with his big warm brown eyes demanding all the pets!
Currently his foster parents both work from home and so he happily takes turns sleeping next to their desk throughout the day. Therefore he would be best suited to a family where at least one person is often at home to keep him company.
After a good night’s sleep next to your bed, he does get super excited in the morning and does a little rabbit hop when he sees you. Occasionally his excitement does get the better of him and he may jump onto you! So he is best suited to a family with kids over the age of 8 at least.
Lars absolutely loves walks and so he is currently getting a 20 minute walk in the morning followed with a 30 minutes jog/walk in the evenings. However when this is not possible he is also content with a quick 10 minute walk in the evenings.
He walks on the leash like an absolute pro! Whether it’s a slow walk or a quick jog he would match your speed to walk right beside you. He also does not get frazzled by loud noises or traffic. Other dogs who he encounters on his walks do not bother him too much as long as they don’t try to snap at him! He has also lived with another greyhound companion and would therefore be happy in a home with or without another doggy companion.
He is generally a good traveller and can easily go on a 30 minutes ride without fuss. He can also get in and out of a vehicle by himself though you may need to help him a bit if the jump is too high.
He also loves grass and would sometimes go lounge in the grassed backyard to soak in that Vitamin D! So ideally a grassed backyard where he could do the occasional Zoomie would be wonderful.
Lars is a beautiful friendly dog who deserves the best home
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
