About Boof
Despite being picked up on the streets of Ballarat, Boof has obviously been someone's pet. He is a dear little character and will answer when you talk to him. He purrs readily, sometimes when you just go over and speak to him.
He loves his food and will eat anything we put down;we don't leave a bowl of biscuits down, because he will just eat the lot, so I make it a separate snack.
He is fastidious with his toilet tray and has never soiled anywhere else.
Boof gets anxious when picked up and is a bit wary of visitors. He doesn't want to sit laps, but likes to sit next to you on the sofa for a bit of fuss. He loves a gentle tummy rub, his eyes glaze over and he purrs loudly.
Having contracted the FIV virus, he has to be an indoor cat, but seems perfectly content with this, not trying to slide outside when a door is opened. He would be OK with apartment living, happy to sit by a window and watch the world go by. He has no symptoms of FIV and could go on contentedly for years.
Medical notes
Boof has tested FIV positive. It appears he has been lost for a while and has had to defend himself and has contracted FIV.
Being FIV positive is just like being HIV positive. It does not mean he has aids.
