About Lopez
Lopez is a dream! This little boy (8kg) has everything you could want in a dog. His little legs, pointy ears and incredible disposition get him noticed wherever he goes, and he just laps up all the attention.
Lopez is an amazing housemate. He isn’t destructive or a barker and once he’s had his walk, he will happily spend his days lying by your side on a comfy bed (or couch if he’s allowed!). He is toilet trained and uses the doggy door to take himself inside and out when he needs. He sleeps through the night without a peep and is happy to be at home while you’re out for a while as long as he has a doggy friend for company.
Out and about, he is a dream. He walks well on leash, travels nicely in the car and enjoys getting out daily for a walk or adventure. He is very dog social with dogs of all sizes and ages and enjoys spending time with his doggy friends. He is currently in foster care with 4 other dogs of varying ages and sizes and he plays appropriately with all of them. He also currently lives with a cat who he will have a sniff of and then leave alone, so we feel he would be ok to rehome with a cat as long as the cat is used to living with dogs.
Due to his love of other dogs, we will be looking for a home with another dog already at home for company. He does enjoy playing, so another dog who is up for a little play and a snuggle in bed is what Lopez is looking for in a new doggy housemate. Lopez has low to moderate energy levels and as long as he gets one good outing a day, he will be content. He has met some children and been ok with them, although he hasn’t lived with children before so we would prefer a quieter home with only one young child or a couple of older children (12+).
Lopez came into care from a rural NSW facility where they treated him for a severe flea infestation. His skin was pretty inflamed from the fleas so he was put on a course of medication, which has improved his skin drastically. His hair is growing back and is almost back to normal. Due to his rural start to life, we will be looking for a house with a yard, not in the inner city, so no units please! One of his favourite things to do is lie on the grass or deck during the day sun baking so we would love for him to be able to do this in his new home too. He is not suited to first time dog owners due to the Sydney being a whole new world for him, he needs someone who can appropriately read his body language and ensure he is comfortable in new situations.
Lopez will need a home where he is allowed inside as part of the family and provided a comfy bed to sleep on inside at night time. He would like his people home more often than not (part time workers ok as long as you can take time off to settle him in). He should be provided a high quality diet and lots of opportunities for experiencing new things.
If you think you can provide our gorgeous boy Lopez with the loving and fulfilling life he deserves, then head on over to our fetching dogs website and fill out and adoption application as the next step in the process. Only applications that provide significant extra detail about their home and the life that they can offer Lopez will have the opportunity to make it to the phone interview stage so don't be shy when filling in the paperwork.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
