About 🥯Bagel🥯
Do you need someone who will keep you company? Be your little spoon? Watch over you while you sleep? Bagel is your dude!
There is one thing, and one thing only on his mind, and that is you. Usually, he is thinking about when you’re going to stop whatever you are doing and pay him attention. Bagel is a snuggler. He demands your lap and your bed. Definitely don’t think of having him sleep separately from you, or he will sing the song of his people to find you and convince you of his desperate need to sleep in a bed. Bagel will smooch you, he will tap you with a soft paw, and will purr in your face. YOU are his raison d’etre. Do you get lonely going to the toilet by yourself? Yes? Fabulous, that is also a thing of the past if you welcome this boy into your heart and life.
Bagel is not suited to being left alone for the day as he craves company. He really needs someone who is a homebody and would be a perfect fit for a single person or a couple who works from home, or retirees who are home most of the day. Once he has chosen you, this beautiful boy could be your new best friend. Bagel is also cruisy enough to live with gentle, friendly children who can give him a bit of loving and play time.
Other animals? No thanks. Bagel wants your lap all to himself. This sweet boy isn’t a fan of other cats, even with slow introductions. He must have a home of his own with no other pets!
Despite being a ‘short hair’ cat, Bagel needs daily brushing to keep his coat nice and healthy. His current foster mother has threatened to make an extra cat out of all the hair she has brushed out. However, a quick brush morning and night keeps him looking really spiffy plus, he loves it, and it’s hard to say no to him! He will purr and purr and drool just a bit, so you know that he is enjoying all the attention.
Bagel will celebrate a decade on earth in January, but you would never know it. He is young in mind, body, and spirit. He loves to explore his foster home and is able to deftly jump up onto anything he pleases. He has recently had a dental to take care of some tartar and some pesky broken teeth, although he doesn’t have many left now. He’s also had full blood tests, and his kidneys are in tip-top shape!
Bagel had and ultrasound that showed very early signs of Irritable Bowel Disease. Since he has started on medication (one tablet per day) he has had no symptoms. He will need another check up in a few weeks time which we will cover the costs of at our vet in Ferntree Gully. Bagel is currently in care in Wheelers Hill and he is looking for a forever home that will love and spoil him as he goes into the second half of his life. His adoption fee is $600 which is only a fraction of what Squishies has spent on him to ensure he goes to his new home as healthy as possible.
Please note: Only enquiries accompanied with a completed adoption questionnaire will receive a response. https://www.squishiesrescue.org.au/adopt-cat
Medical notes
Bagel goes to his new home desexed, microchipped, parasite treated and current in vaccinations. He has also had a dental scale and polish with extractions. As he has a recently diagnosed case of IBD, we would like to settle him into his new home now, but continue to monitor his progress for a month. Once our vets have done a final check and he's settled in, the adoption will be finalised.
Bagel's vet is in Ferntree Gully and you must be willing to bring him for a check up before finalising adoption.
