About Gemma
Gemma is a sweet 2 year old short haired Border Collie mix who is affectionate, playful and a good listener.
This little pocket rocket has her basic commands established and will willingly show you her skills in return for a pat. Gemma is crate trained and sleeps through the night without a peep. She has wonderful manners inside, and will lay on her mat quietly even with distractions nearby.
Gemma is generally timid in new situations and requires a patient handler who will allow her time to adjust. With gentle guidance and praise, it doesn't take long for her confidence to shine through. She has started lead training, can jump in the back of a buggy / ute and has some tricks up her sleeve such as shake, leave it and roll over.
Gemma has lovely manners when meeting new fur friends and people. She initially likes her space with other dogs but it isn't long until she wants to join in on play- especially if it is zoomies! She tends to be OK around her foster cat sibling. Gemma has been tested around horses but not chickens.
Gemma is quite gentle and submissive, but for her small size she can move quickly. She would make a lovely offsider for someone in a rural area, or non built up suburbia and would prefer a home with another doggy pal or where her humans are home more often than not. Although Gemma has basic training, she would benefit from ongoing work in order to keep her stimulated.
If you think you have a home where Gemma can thrive apply now!
Gemma is located in NSW...
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
