About Mia
MIA #2865 is an eight-year-old Pug x Chihuahua, a sweet and gentle girl who weighs in at just over 5kg. Mia came into care with a historic leg fracture and dislocation, and was quite underweight. She was already quite capable of managing with three legs and has now had the damaged leg amputated, put on weight and is ready for rehoming. In foster care, Mia has been walking 5kms every morning, a highlight of her day. During the day she likes to have her doughnut bed with a thin cuddly blanket to snuggle under and preferably be near her human. Mia is definitely a lap dog and would like to have someone around most of the time. She is friendly to all humans but is anti-social to other dogs, cats and kangaroos. One of her greatest loves is going out in the car. Another habit is starting the night in her own bed but in the early hours of the morning she gently jumps onto the human bed to be closer to her carer. Mia doesn't play with balls etc, but loves occasionally playing chasings. She is obedient and doesn't wander away from the house. As Mia likes human company so much her ideal new home would be a recently retired active person who is ready for some unconditional love, company, and a new little mate. It is necessary that she has her daily walk for about an hour, or two half hour, walks. These need to be on a smooth surface e.g. concrete path or cycle path. As she just has three legs and is a small dog, she would not be suitable for children. Mia is desexed, chipped, vaccinated, worm/flea treated and vet checked.
