About Dusty
Some Labradors are suited to becoming guide dogs…well, Dusty's not cut out for that, but he sure can be your guide on how to have fun!
This lovable guy is big, boofy and has a bounce in every step. He LOVES people and animals and has made it his life's mission to become friends with as many people and pets as possible. He's even friendly with wild rabbits! The trouble is Dusty hasn't quite perfected the art of calm social interaction. Dusty wouldn't mind in the least if you barrelled right into him and gave him a full-body hug, and he's not quite sure why other people and their dogs don't feel the same way. On the plus side, Dusty is highly intelligent and eager to please, which means that he will learn very quickly with a dog-savvy handler at the helm. If you're unsure how best to assist Dusty in acting like a refined gentleman, don't worry, that's what dog trainers are for! After a couple of sessions with a qualified trainer, you and Dusty will be the best-mannered pair walking the town!
Dusty is active, playful and adventurous. He loves the water and is a fantastic swimmer, but his favourite things are his family, soccer balls (the more worn in the better) and food. Yep, he wouldn't be a real Labrador unless he loved any and all food he's offered. Dusty will do anything for a treat and will happily replace your vacuum cleaner if there are any food crumbs about.
Dusty is a genuinely loyal and loving boy. He is very, very sweet but definitely doesn't know his size and could be quite a hazard in a home with anyone who might be accidentally bowled over. Dusty would love to be fully included in an active household to keep his days interesting and his exercise requirements fulfilled. A home with adults or even teenage children who love playing soccer in the backyard would be a dream come true for this football superstar! Dusty would also love to share his new home with a sociable dog friend (or two) to help keep his social cup full. Dusty would even be happy to share his new digs with a cat - as long as the cat doesn't mind living with a big, boisterous boofhead!
Medical notes
Dusty is as fit as a fiddle!
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
