About Max
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Family at home more than away OR a doggie companion
Greyhounds don’t come much closer to perfect than Max! At 6 ½ years old, Max has learned a lot of stuff about himself and has nothing to prove to the world. He is comfortable in his own skin and his only wish is to please and give love to his humans. He is a naturally happy soul with a tail that wags almost constantly. He is also a naturally well-mannered dog, with enquiring eyes that ask what is expected of him. The only way you will pick up if Max if feeling a little anxious is if he is panting a lot. Max is extremely willing dog and is happy to please as soon as he understands what is expected of him.
Max is completely calm and comfortable around all humans, k9’s and most animals no matter their age or size. He does not possess an ounce of aggression, and will choose flight over fight therefore he will usually back off when confronted with grumpy dogs.
Max is completely trusting when you interfere with his bed or his dinner of his favourite toys, his only reaction an enquiring look. Max loves to fetch a tennis ball.
Max is very comfortable around the house and has no tendencies to be destructive or even dig in the garden. He adores his morning walk (up to 5 k’s) and prefers to wait till he is out of his yard to toilet. After that Max is happy and content to either hang out with you in the house on his bed or accompany you anywhere you want to go doing anything you want to do for the day.
Max is brilliant in a car and even on the train. He walks at heel when required though I like to give him some freedom to sniff away on his daily neighbourhood walk. Max has been exposed to all manner of neighbourhood circumstance, busses, trucks, motor cycles, skateboards, noisy kids and massive crowds; he takes it all in his stride and is just happy to be with you. Max can be left for periods of time and is relaxed in his yard with a toy and a radio on.
Maxes ideal fureva home would include humans who are home a lot of the time, and will include him in their daily activities. He would be happy with or without a calm companion K9.
Max is revelling in his retirement, and has taken to companion life like a duck to water. Max really is a treasure
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
