NOTE: You are unable to meet Rodney until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Rodney in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:

• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Large breed experience is a MUST
• An owner that is physically fit that has the strength to hold me back on walks ect.
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I am reactive to dogs that are too full on or mean to me but im more than happy to say hello to friendly dogs of all sizes although I am not overly interested in playing with them.
• Im happy to be an only dog but would also be happy to go to a home with another chilled out dog for company.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• I am happy to go to a home with kids but they need to have experience with large dogs as I am a big strong boy and may accidentally knock little kids over.
• Strong Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be.

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
• Full on or reactive dogs

My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• food motivated
• I can sit with high value treats
• Happy to say hello to other friendly dogs
• Social butterfly
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require basic training as I seem to only know how to sit occasionally.
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this.
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.
• I do walk quite well on the lead once settled, however I am a big strong boy and I do pull hard if something interests so walking in a harness & halti is recommended.

Medical:
• Our vets have noted on Rodney's health check, excess skin around eyes but no obvious Entropian. If recurring eye irritation, recommend eye assessment at the expense of the new owner.
