About Ivy
Hi! I'm Ivy and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR IVY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/Xh367Uxtebejq2kf7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Ivy until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Ivy in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as boisterous dogs scare me, however I'm not really interested in playing with other dogs and I'd be very happy to have you all to myself.
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing with no holes or gaps I can squeeze through
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• I have previously lived with young children
• No young children as I can be very shy & nervous, older children who understand that they will need to take is slow with me should be ok.
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidentally scare me. Older children who will be understand to take things slow with me may be ok.
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans, it's my favourite thing to just snuggle on your lap
• Well mannered
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialisation
