About Skye
Sweet and silly with a dash of snoozy, our darling 2 year old Skye is ready
to broaden her horizons and find her new home. If you’ve been puzzled about
what your life is missing, it could be Skye – she’s a very talented
contortionist and can effortlessly fit into the tiniest spaces. Your lap,
couch, sandwich, and heart are not immune to her skill level.
As the resident couch potato, she’s a homebody at heart who would enjoy a
cruisy household, away from the hustle and bustle of city-life. Skye gives
quiet walking routes and a twice daily sniffari the paw of approval. She’s
not a fan of loud noises, so no thrash metal or trams please!
She adores meeting new friends of all shapes and sizes, but just requests
that sniffs happen from the booty end, rather than face-first. Thanks in
advance for helping Skye to be the very best version of herself for her
future friends.
When it comes to affection, Skye will solicit and exchange immediate,
lifelong friendship for snuggles and ear rubs. She thinks that size
shouldn’t dictate whether you’re a lapdog or not. She most definitely is.
It’s super sweet to see her play, she loves toys and anything with tassels –
she’ll fling her toys up in the air or parade them from room to room for ten
minutes and then she’s ready for a marathon nap.
Sometimes new places and things make Skye hesitate, but with patience and
gentle encouragement we’re proud to say that she’s adapted and overcome
those hurdles in leaps and bounds. Skye doubts she’ll ever be a café dog and
she hasn’t quite figured out if she likes the car or not, but she’ll give it
her best shot if you’re there by her side. She’s already mastered the
stairs, learnt a few commands, and knows what’s what when it comes to house
rules. The way to her heart is via her stomach – she loves her food!
A little dream-snoot, Skye doesn’t bat a pretty lash when you leave the
house. She would be content to live as a solo snoot, or with another
suitable doggy companion who doesn’t mind sharing the love and teaching her how
to play!
No cats or small dogs
No full time workers unless some working from home or there is another dog

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
