About Cheeky
Cheeky is taking pet life in her stride! Don't let her age and exceptionally
cute sugar snoot fool you, she's a spring chicken with pupper eyes that are
extremely irresistible. A home for her ninth birthday and your commitment to
cuddles would be the perfect present for our darling Cheeky.
When she's not earning awards for climbing mountains (see: fearlessly
mastering stairs) and effortlessly enduring scary sky bangs (thunderstorms),
you'll find Cheeky at your side, dishing out leans and limitless love.
Cheeky just loves to cuddle. If your hand is left unattended, she'll boop it
to remind you that your cuddle meter is getting low.
Keen to join you on your adventures, Cheeky travels well and will jump
easily into the backseat. Enjoying a once daily stroll to check her
weemails, Cheeky will stop to smell the roses and on a sunny day, you'll
find her in full goober mode, rolling around on the grass with her tongue
out.
Whilst being with you is her favourite activity, in your absence Cheeky will
settle into snooze-land and patiently await your return. When you do, it'll
warm your heart to hear her happy taps!
Cheeky would love a fellow large canine companion for company, she's
currently in foster care with another greyhound. She's a quick learner and
already knows a few commands - she doesn't need to be told twice to get on
her bed. She loves all things soft, including toys but her absolute
favourite is her blankie. Living up to her name, you'll find your slippers
unharmed in her bed.
Cheeky loves socialising with her houndie friends and whilst she has
positively interacted with other dog breeds, they remain outside of her
friendship circle. Continuing with calm, positive interactions with other
dogs will be beneficial. Cheeky does not want to be friends with cats or
small dogs, thank you so much.
No cats or small dogs

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
