About Kosta - 2 Year Old Terrier X (On Trial)
Meet our gorgeous excitable black and white terrier cross Kosta, she is 2.6 years young and weighs a mere 5.6kgs. Although Kosta is little in size, she’s big on character and a ball of ongoing energy. You could say a “delightful challenge”.
Kosta is a sociable little lady, she loves affection and to cuddle up with people, but she does get excited, jumps up on you and can be a little nippy, which could be a concern for young children. (To date Kosta has not been tested with young children). Oh, and Kosta looooves toys, she can get over-excited and become destructive with these and her bedding, so it’s important you keep her busy, watch her and ensure her toys are dog safe.
As Kosta spent her life outside she chooses to still sleep outside, but under a covered area out of the wind and rain. She also chooses the ground over a bed, so she is a little quirky. This means she needs patience, time, lots of encouragement, and someone committed to continue her daytime toilet training. Kosta gets excited meeting new people or when seeing her foster carer after a break, she jumps up to greet them and can get a little nippy, her foster carer is working on this and these behaviours will need to be continued in her new home. Kosta hasn’t had any experience with walking on a lead and will also require persistence and ongoing training here as well. Because she loves food, all food, she will be easy to bribe when training.
In summary, Kosta deserves a loving forever home, one with parents willing to continue to work on her lead and toilet training as well as her jumping and nipping when she is excited. Someone who can ensure she receives mental and physical stimulation. Kosta is selective with other dogs and would prefer to be an only dog and the focus of your attention. She loves her human company so she would need to be welcomed inside when the family is home and be involved in her new family’s life. She would benefit with someone that is home most of the time or works part time as she can be destructive when bored. As Kosta gets excited around new people and can jump up and be nippy, a home with children over the age of 10 is highly recommended. Kosta has not attempted to jump any fences, due to her small size I recommend solid fencing or small to no gaps is preferrable. Kosta is a real character who craves for a human to love her, is that you?
