About Baloo
Hi! I’m Baloo and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BALOO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/h66r9ngrAVQNyYN39
NOTE: You are unable to meet Baloo until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Baloo in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• A calm dog is the best housemate for me. But, I LOVE LOVE LOVE people, so I'm just as happy being an only dog getting all of your love and attention for myself
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• Small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Love to snooze on the couch
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I seem to be nervous around new dogs, so taking me place where I'll interact with dogs in a controlled environment will help me learn to not be scared of them anymore.
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow.
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will look to you for comfort and reassurance, so a safe space to retreat to would be very welcome.
• I need a nice quiet home with no young children (under 12 years), so I can take the time I need to get used to my new home and learn that I'm safe and loved
