About Turtle
Hi! I'm Turtle and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR TURTLE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/8LiPMyxaZ47D9B6w7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Turtle until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Turtle in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as boisterous dogs scare me so I will require lots of socialisation with positive experiences with other dogs.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats, pocket pets or fowl that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with them, so it is recommended that I don't go to a home that has them.
• Secure Fencing with no holes or gaps I can squeeze through
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me
• Young children may be ok, however my history with them is unknown
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I have never walked on a lead before so I need lots of training to learn to enjoy a stroll around the neighbourhood.
