This little angel is the last available from her litter (which her foster mum is secretly happy about because she’s certainly the favourite). Photos do not do this sweet pea justice as she is cute as a button in person! Irena has gained the nickname Smoochie around the house as she loves nothing more than sitting directly on you the moment your bum touches a seat. Irena and her sisters have had a rough start to life and because of this she is a little nervous around new people and dogs. However, once comfortable, you could not ask for a more loyal and loving little friend.

Irena likes other dogs but will require slow introduction to any potential fur siblings/friends. Upon meeting her current foster siblings she was quite barky and unsettled. This behaviour calmed down with regular, short, positive introductions over a few days.

Irena lives in harmony with two of her foster parent’s resident cats. She will attempt to play with them/bark at them on the odd occasion, but she is easy to redirect.

Irena has had previous experience with older primary school aged children and has met her current foster mum’s one year old nephew. She is very sweet with kids and is quite gentle (for a puppy). She would have no problems fitting into a home with children.

Irena is a very people oriented dog and enjoys being a part of whatever you’re doing. She is also very physically affectionate and is a sucker for attention! She would suit a home where someone is home most of the day or where she has a pup friend to spend time with while the humans are at work/school. Whilst a bit nervous, she loves meeting new people.

Due to her breed Irena is expected to be a highly active dog when she is older. She will require a large yard/acreage and would not be suited to a unit or apartment. Being a working breed she is also highly intelligent and will require ongoing training and mental stimulation to be happy. Experience with high energy breeds is preferred.
