About Possum
This sweet young man is Possum, a domestic short haired born 26th April 2022.
When Possum & his mum Opi came in to the facility they were both quite feral. Over the last few months we have been working with them every day to get them used to human interaction and building trust with them. Because of this we are now able to pat both with no issues but he still doesn't like being picked up.
Possum can be nervous with new surroundings so he may hide while he's settling in. He enjoys affection on his terms, but is also happy doing his own thing. Due to his timidness we would recommend either an adult only home, or with children over 10yrs.
Possum enjoys the company of other cats, however he is untested with dogs.
Possum may be a little cautious and hide in the beginning, but once he becomes comfortable he will settle in beautifully with most homes.

His adoption fee is $250 & this includes his desexing, vaccinations and lifetime registrations. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Possum is currently located in East Maitland.

Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
