About Maggie
Maggie is 4 years old and is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Maggie finds herself homeless and confused, she is in search of a loving forever family that can give her the time and attention she is craving.
Maggie adores her people and wants to be by their side as often as possible, she is the definition of a ‘German Shadow’ and wants to be inside, included as part of the family. Maggie is best suited to a home where someone is home often or where she can go with her new family, she doesn’t like being left alone for long periods and gets very worried during storms.
Although Maggie can get a little over-excited at times, she is a gentle girl that would suit most family dynamics and may be suited to living in a home with children who have large breed experience.
Maggie didn’t have the best start to life, she was used as a breeding dog and wasn’t kept in the best condition, when she arrived in our care, she was extremely thin and had fly-bitten ears. Maggie has previously lived with another dog and gets along well with other dogs, she may be suited to living with a large-breed, male dog in her new home. Maggie has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
Maggie is a little lovebug that will do anything for a treat, she enjoys going for walks with her people and once the initial excitement is over, she settles in to walk nicely on lead. Maggie knows her basic commands but can still be puppy-like at times, she is keen to learn new commands for food and would do well with training sessions at home to maintain her manners.
Sweet little Maggie has so much love to give to someone willing to put in the time and effort into her, she deserves to be treated like a princess and wants to be part of a family unit that will cherish and adore her.
Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
