About Nala
*In foster care in Enmore, Sydney*
Nala is an absolute joy to have around! This affectionate, kind girl is always delighted to see you, especially if you're up for a long game of fetch - followed by hours of snuggling together on the couch :)
While still young and full of beans, Nala is super-smart and a quick learner. You'll find it incredibly rewarding to continue with her training, as she picks up new commands easily and is very keen to please!
Some of her favourite things include pats and belly rubs (her face becomes the picture of bliss, and her tail practically wags off her body!), and she adores car trips - jumping right in and gazing contentedly out the window as the world flashes by.
While out in the neighbourhood on leash, Nala does display some anxiety. She'll need ongoing training to reduce her stress levels when she sees other dogs (especially large ones). She's also displayed symptoms of separation anxiety and can sound quite distressed when everyone leaves the house; however, she will quiet down eventually and has not been destructive while alone.
Like all Maggie's pets, Nala is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: The most important thing for me is to find a wonderful person, couple or family who'll commit to my ongoing behavioural training so I can become the best, happiest dog I can be!
I'm also looking for a home with space where I can run around and play, in a neighbourhood where I don't have to encounter too many other dogs while on my walks. I don't like being alone, so human company throughout the day would be perfect :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: As a working dog, I tend to be full of energy - especially when excited! But the good news is I'm happy to chill out if you're working in the study or busy with other tasks around the house.
I find walks very stimulating, and I'm still learning how to be calm when I'm in unfamiliar locations or smell anything new and interesting. I have shown good progress though - I can following 'heel' commands and trot along beside you :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Kids aged approximately 10+ will be the best match for me, as I forget how strong I am and can get very enthusiastic when playing!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I've enjoyed spending time with the little old Jack Russell in my foster home! We've hung out off-leash in the backyard and gone out on walks together, and I've never displayed any aggression.
I haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
