About Pumpkin
Pumpkin is an absolute sweetheart who wins the hearts of everyone she meets.
As a French Bulldog, Pumpkin will require a home where she can be indoors (especially in hot weather) with air conditioning and someone who can afford brachycephalic surgery as she will most likely need it in the future.
She's a confident girl who doesn't think before she acts at times. Hilarious and goofy, she's a wonderful family companion and wants to be involved in every aspect of your day to day life.
Pumpkin doesn't love being on her own without her people so she would prefer it if you were home more often than not to work on her independence training.
Unfortunately, Pumpkin hasn't had very much basic training and would benefit from ongoing learning. She will need toilet training and someone happy to use reward based learning.
Pumpkin isn't sure about other dogs as she hasn't had much socialisation when she was little. Although enthusiastic, she doesn't have much social skills and would not be suitable for a dog park. She could live with another dog, but she will need to meet them at the shelter to make sure it will be a good fit and her new family will need to manage ongoing introductions at home. She would prefer to be the only dog though.
Pumpkin loves moving her toys to where she wants them, snorts and makes little pig noises instead of barking and would happily curl up on the couch next to her people for hours.
Pumpkin's adoption fee includes a 1 on 1 post adoption consult with our behaviour trainer at SCAR so Pumpkin's new family have all the skills necessary to continue to teach her how to dog.
LOCATION: FOSTER CARE **Application Process** If you are interested in this pet and ready to adopt now, please send in an application to the SCAR Adoption Team. On the Pet Rescue profile, push the "Enquire About This Pet" button. Follow the prompts to "send enquiry now" and in the message section please tell us all about you and your home. Ensure you tell us about anything specific that you feel makes you a great match for this particular pet, or if you have specific requirements for a pet coming in to your home. The information you provide helps us to start a conversation with potential adopters, and find a great match for pets in our care. Please note the following: We do not take applications for animals over the phone, as we are a small team and are trying our best to be fair to all applicants while creating the best outcomes for our animals. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days, and will confirm with all applicants once we have an adoption meet booked for the animal. All of our meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Craigieburn, and all going well you will take home your pet on the day of the meet. The majority of our animals are in a foster home, not at the shelter, so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you! www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ... because they all deserve one.
