About Poppy
Poppy is what as known as a "Spoodle" which is a poodle x cocker spaniel and is an extremely shy and timid girl. She will take sometime to settle into her new home, so someone with patience and time is required.
Poppy spent the first week or so hiding in a corner or under something, just observing her new surroundings, popping her head out every now and again when she deemed it safe to do so and have her meals.
Poppy has now been with me just over 3 weeks, and she will sit on the lounge next to me but is still unsure about getting pats. She will happily come up to me for a treat, she loves her treats and food.
Due to her timid nature, Poppy will need a home with no young children and she must have another doggy companion. Poppy is happy to run and play with small dogs and is quite happy in the company of my big dogs who are very gentle with small dogs.
Another dog is a must as she will learn from watching you interact and play with your other dog and she will grow in confidence.
There is no magic formula for winning Poppy over, food, love, patience and time are all that are needed, lots of time.
This process will take weeks and months, so you must be committed to helping Poppy become a happy canine companion, which she will do given the time and the right home.
Poppy would love to find a family to call her own, do you have the time? Watching her grow in confidence and become the happy, friendly dog that she really wants to be is a very rewarding experience, but it is not for everyone.
Poppy is located on the NSW Central Coast.
