About Dusty
Hi my name is Dusty
I am an American Staffordshire Terrier who is 6 months old and my foster mum says I’m special
Now I don’t think she means special cause of the cleft palate and cleft lip I have – she mumbles something about sometimes I am the most lovable boy but not the brightest.
So I suppose we should address first my medical issues – I have a cleft palate and a cleft lip but that does not stop me from doing anything – I love my food, I love my people, I love sunbaking outside, I love hanging out with other furbabies who come into care and I just love to lie around and chill.
I came into care at a young age and my foster mum has been taking care of me to ensure that I grow up healthy and strong and also so that I am ready for my dental work needed to be completed now I am 6 months old (The rescue is going to take care of all of that for me).
But in the meantime while the rescue sorts out my teefs I am needing my forever home!
Now please don’t let my palate issues scare you – I am a big strong boy who will protect you in the dark (okay I’ll be behind you but in my head I’m protecting you).
I am awesome cuddle buddy when you want and great around kids.
I am toilet trained
My foster mum has said I can’t be around chooks as I’m way to curious and I would probably chase a cat if I meet them (or at least if I knew what one was).
I am happy go lucky young man who will happily chillax on the couch with you or be outside watching you do manual labour.
My foster dad and I do talk to each other so he has said if you want to chat to me he will teach you my language
So while I don’t have any separation anxiety or anything like that I do love to be with my humans – if you did work 8 hrs a day and I was home alone, I would definitely take advantage of that and probably take over your bed but also when you got home I would be soooo excited to see you I would probably nearly jump out of my fur!
Please don’t let my palates put you off – I promise I am sooo worth it and will give you a lot of love for as many years as possible.
** Please note applications will close Saturday 29th October 2022 at 5.30pm

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
